Backstory: years ago, I made a polish called Virago for my cousin Michelle while she was battling breast cancer. Most of that side of my family lives in Nebraska, so we don’t get to see each other often. in March, Michelle planned a special birthday trip for her mom Connie’s 75th and came down to OKC. Connie and my mom are cousins, and my mom always talks about how Connie would bring out all her nail polish when they were younger. Connie still loves polish especially purple, so I made her a custom shade for her birthday. While visiting, I also learned that Connie’s mom, my great Aunt Alice, is living with dementia and macular degeneration. It really stuck with me, and I knew I wanted to do something with this polish.
