For May’s Polish for Paws, I wanted to pay tribute to a dog I never met in real life, but who still felt like he was a little bit mine too. Natalie and I bonded years ago over our shared love of animals, and both of us know the deep heartbreak that comes with losing beloved pets.
My friend Natalie adopted Boudreaux in early 2020, and he was the goofiest, sweetest bebe boy - affectionately called Boo. He was a beautiful pup who was suspicious of everything, which somehow made him even more lovable. Sadly, he passed away unexpectedly last September. I waited a while before creating a polish in his memory because I know how sensitive losing a pet can be. When you love them, they truly become family, and their loss leaves such a big space behind.
The name I chose comes from an old 70’s song I’ve always loved. Me & You & a Dog Named Boo features a teal base with purple, pink, and orange shifting shimmer and is packed with holo flakes. Natalie loves greens and teals, and the shimmer represents Boo’s warm spirit, while the holo reflects the sparkle he brought to a room just by being in it.
