Several weeks ago, I walked outside and found a squirrel completely sprawled out under one of our trees. At first I thought she was dead, but she was actually just trying to survive the brutal Oklahoma heat. While I was watering my plants, I misted her down with some cool water and she seemed to love it.
Well, apparently I created a monster because she has come back pretty much every day since for her misting. I named her Barbara, and of course I sent a video of her snoozing during mist time to our local news…and Barbara ended up being featured on TV. She’s basically a local celebrity now.
Even though we already have a Polish for Paws shade this month, I really wanted to make something for my new backyard friend and use it as an excuse to help some squirrels too. A portion of the proceeds from this polish will be donated to a squirrel rescue in Barbara’s honor. 🐿️

Secret Squirrel Wildlife Rehabilitation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the rehabilitation of Florida's native mammals. We are an all-volunteer organization. Funds donated are used for direct care if animals. SSWR receives no state or federal funding, we rely on the private donations of the public in order to continue our life-saving work. $13.50 and will not restock after September.
